Daniel Taylor

Daniel Taylor
Daniel Taylor was born right in the heart of Hollywood to an inspirational family striving to put their own stamp on the film and television industry.  He began gravitating toward the performing arts while in high school and decided to continue his new found passion by attending The University of Michigan's Musical Theatre Program in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Classes in voice, dance and acting, as well as a semester abroad at The London Dramatic Academy studying the classics, all prepared him to launch his professional career.  Once back in Los Angeles, Daniel booked appearances on hit television shows such as “Huff” (Showtime) and “My Name Is Earl” (NBC) and starred in several short films.  You can currently catch him starring in a new web series written and directed by Ben Piety entitled "2 28" at www.228thefilm.com.  Each week, one chapter of the 25 episode series will be released starting in September and concluding in November, 2011.

Daniel's voice-over career has kept him busy with roles in commercial spots (McDonalds, Fandango.com, Romano's Macaroni Grill), video games (The White Knight Chronicals 1 & 2), and most recently, as the voice of Xander Harris in the animated 8th season comic of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" by Joss Whedon (available on ITunes).  Daniel is also the voice of "The Car Show" on The Speed Channel and of "Genuine Ken" for Bravo.

Theatrically, this year, Daniel co-starred with Annie Potts in the world premiere of "AfterMath" written by Elliot Shoenman at The Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles (which then re-opened at The Matrix Theatre in LA for a 5 week extension) where he received exceptional critics' praise (LA Time Critic's Choice; Ovation Recommendation).  Also this year, he starred in The Celebration Theatre's production of "What's Wrong with Angry?" by Patrick Wilde (September 9th - November 19th, 2011).  Daniel's individual performance, as well as the production as a whole, received remarkably positive response (Ovation Recommendation, LA Weekly GO!, BackStage West Critic's Pick) and several nominations by BroadwayWorld.com.

Finally, be sure to look out for the independent short, "Giorgio Does Los Angeles," on the festival circuit this year.  Daniel's friend, Andrew Doobay, wrote and directed this very innovative and funny short that Daniel stars in as Giorgio.

Daniel would like to thank all of his teachers past and present ... which would undoubtedly also include his outstanding parents.  Daniel has continued refining his craft since graduating college by studying at The Howard Fine Studio, Lesly Kahn & Company and The Stan Kirsch Studio.
